Whilst most of the courses delivered By Birch Consulting Group are designed specifically to meet clients' specific requirements, we have developed the following workshops in the leadership and management area:

Career Coaching Skills for Managers - a 2 day program.

The course is designed to enable managers to have career conversations with their team members, to enable them to help individuals consider alternative career strategies and to have confidence in delivering hard truths and dealing with tricky career questions.

360 Leadership Effectiveness - half day session

Following completion of the Management Research Group's Leadership Effectiveness 360 Feedback Instrument online, participants are taken through an explanation of their results, whilst ensuring that the results remain confidential to the individual. Their composite results are compared with various benchmark research reports and/or with the organisation's own Leadership Profile. The participants are then guided through the next steps which include clarifying results and drawing up action plans. One on one follow up coaching is available.

Mentoring Briefing Sessions - 3 half day sessions.

These sessions, plus pre course work, are designed to set up mentoring pairs to then work together independently. (The mentoring pairs have already been identified). The sessions address the definition of mentoring, roles and responsibilities of mentor, mentee and the manager and examine the skills of mentoring. The final session brings the pairs together where they get to know each other and draw up a "mentoring contract".

Time Management and/or Delegation - half day workshops

These are highly interactive sessions, examining the main time wasters as well as tips and techniques to address them. The proposed format uses a classic and humorous video to bring some of the consequences of poor organisational skills to life.

"You cannot organise others until you can organise yourself"! The benefits of delegation are indentified as well as the key steps involved and the pitfalls to avoid at each stage.
